Tips for Uploading to Flickr on the Nokia N82
Yup! I got it! After all the discounts I bought the newly released black Nokia N82 at S$393.
Among the wonders of the pretty much perfect phone, the function to seamlessly upload pictures to your Flickr account is no doubt one of the coolest and most useful. Unfortunately for me, I am not a frequent user of Flickr (for many reasons I’ll list on another post) but to demonstrate how easy it is for the people who DO use it, here it is.
1. Open your Gallery.
2. Choose a photo.
3. Click the globe icon (second from top).
4. Follow instructions to connect to service and it uploads the photo for you automatically.
Notes:
1. You’ll have to login once first then the system remembers your account details.
2. Resize your photo first if you want to upload a lower resolution version and upload that one. There are no resizing options BEFORE you upload.
3. The tagging and description option is erratic. Appeared once but the second time it didn’t. Will have to relook at that.
Still, it is a truly seamless uploading experience and I’ll be exploring it to see if the phone will (and technically should) connect to Picasa and other photo services.
